Upon conclusion of the final races at the 2019 Hempel Youth Sailing World Championships, four U.S. athletes have earned the title of Youth World Champions. Maddie Hawkins (Edgewater, Md.) and Yumi Yoshiyasu (Houston, Texas) claimed gold medals in the Girls International 420 fleet, while Berta Puig (Miami, Fla.) and Bella Casaretto (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) were victorious in the Girls 29er fleet.

This year, the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club will host 83 youth sailors, competing across four classes. The event begins Friday, June 21 and will run through Tuesday, June 25.
Racing will be taking place from May 13 to 19 at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy for the 2019 Volvo 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 European Championships.
