US Sailing is a volunteer-driven organization governed by our board of directors, and supported by committees, and hundreds of passionate sailors.
US Sailing is guided by more than 50 committees and 300+ active volunteers who serve on those committees. All areas of the sport are represented, from training and education to offshore big boat racing.
We are always looking for new volunteers to join the various committees and bring new ideas and energy. If there is a particular area you would like to support, event you would like to get involved with or program you want to enhance, we have plenty of opportunities for you to contribute. If you are not sure where your interests are, come to a US Sailing Annual Meeting to learn more about all the opportunities. Board and committee meetings are open to observers. You can meet the volunteers that are already involved and learn more about each committee.
Our volunteers bring a broad range of skills to US Sailing, from technical and creative, to strategic and operational. It’s easy to get involved. Here are a few ways you can get started:
- Find an area of the organization that interests you.
- Access our committee directory where you can access information on our committees, including contact information.
- Feel free to contact the US Sailing office and speak with someone in the particular department of interest. They will be happy to give you more information.
Connect with this outstanding group of passionate sailors who are focused on supporting sailors, around the country. Welcome aboard!
