US Sailing is a volunteer-driven organization governed by our Board of Directors, and supported by our Sailor Athlete Council, committees, and hundreds of passionate sailors.
US Sailing is guided by more than 50 committees and 300+ active volunteers who serve on those committees. All areas of the sport are represented, from training and education to offshore big boat racing. Committee roles or smaller task forces are utilized to focus volunteer resources in areas of greatest need.
We are always looking for new volunteers to join the various committees and bring new ideas and energy. If there is a particular area you would like to support, an event you would like to get involved with, or a program you want to enhance, we have plenty of opportunities for you to contribute.
Our volunteers bring a broad range of skills to US Sailing, from technical and creative, to strategic and operational. It’s easy to get involved. Here are a few ways you can get started:
- Find an area of the organization that interests you.
- Access our committee directory where you can access information on our committees, including contact information.
- Feel free to contact the US Sailing office and speak with someone in the particular department of interest. They will be happy to give you more information.
