Course Calendars

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, US Sailing has postponed all small boat, keelboat, powerboat and reach instructor courses starting before 6/1/2020. At this time, we are not setting dates for rescheduled courses/seminars as we want to monitor the situation and ensure that courses have the greatest chance of occurring.

Those impacted by this change may transfer into any existing course that starts on or after 6/1/2020, or take a full credit for a future course. Please contact to make a transfer request. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

PLEASE NOTE: US Sailing has developed an online platform that allows 50% of the Small Boat Level 1 course content to be delivered online. We are working to onboard postponed students into this platform. Starting on May 5th we will open registration for a limited number of courses for those students who are not yet enrolled in courses. Those sessions will beginning on May 15th and will run for ten (10) days. After completing the online elements, students will need to complete a two-day, in-person, section to complete the course. More information about the process and structure will be available shortly.

We appreciate your patience.

US Sailing offers a variety of courses at both the student and instructor level. To view dates and locations and register for an Instructor or Counselor course please find the desired course on the appropriate calendar as listed below.

US Sailing does not provide student level instruction directly, but rather relies on the nationwide network of  Certified instructors and coaches that work at community sailing programs, yacht clubs and commercial centers. Please look at the Where to Sail database to find a location near you if you are seeking to begin sailing. If you are looking for a student level Powerboat course, please visit .

US Sailing adult-level membership is required for registration in all instructor/counselor courses except Sailing Counselor.  You must use your individual membership to register, not your organizations. Course fees are not refundable except in situations when a course is cancelled due to under-enrollment.

If you have any questions regarding course requirements, eligibility or registration, please contact or 401.342.7900
