Leadership for the Sport of Sailing
As the National Governing Body for the sport of sailing, US Sailing’s mission is to provide leadership for the sport of sailing in the United States.
The organization works to achieve this mission through a wide range of programs and events. US Sailing sets the course enabling sailors to enjoy the sport for a lifetime.
Membership in US Sailing is open to all individuals and organizations, including all sailors, coaches, trainers, managers, administrators, and officials without discrimination on the basis of gender, race, color, ethnicity, culture, religion, sexual orientation, gender expression or mental or physical disability.

Get Involved
We are a volunteer-driven organization
US Sailing is guided by more than 50 committees and 300+ active volunteers who serve on those committees. All areas of the sport are represented, from training and education to offshore big boat racing. We are always looking for new volunteers to join the various committees and bring new ideas and energy.
Consider the Sailor Athlete Council (SAC) works to maintain an avenue for sailor athletes in the U.S. to voice their opinions, and to provide a forum and opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the future and direction of our sport.
