US Sailing is pleased to provide access to comprehensive Marine License & Professional Liability Insurance for current members who hold a valid U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) license. While safety remains the top priority, boat accidents and other maritime incidents can still occur.
US Sailing, working with marine insurance partner Risk Strategies – Brown & Brown, is delighted to bring you this new coverage offering designed to help protect you, and your USCG license, from the risks associated with your maritime work, sailing coaching/instruction, related on land/in-the-classroom actions, and volunteer activities on the water. Subject to the policy terms and conditions, this coverage is intended to respond to allegations of professional negligence arising from vessel-related incidents, accidents, or casualties resulting in third-party bodily injury or property damage, including collisions.
US Sailing members receive 15% off the base coverage rates. Additionally, US Sailing Members who apply within the first three months of this new partnership will also receive a $225 discount on their first year of coverage.

Requirements to apply:
- Current, active US Sailing membership #
- Current USCG License #
- For the coverage to be valid, the vessel(s) you are operating from and providing instruction to must be insured by a protection and indemnity (P&I) / hull policy. Coverage is designed to safeguard insureds on owned and/or non-owned vessels
