Luke Muller (Fort Pierce, Fla.) is in his second day of racing at the Santander Invitational Finn Test Event and will sail through June 25 against nine Finn sailors he’ll see on the starting line next month at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

The team roster, selected annually by US Sailing, is comprised of athletes training to win gold at major international multisport Games and sailing events around the world. With many of the team’s upcoming racing and training venues featuring high heat and humidity, the sailors will rely on Oro Sports’ industry-leading products to stay cool and achieve optimal performance.
Stephanie Roble (East Troy, Wis.) and Maggie Shea (Wilmette, Ill.) finished Act II of the 49er & 49erFX Championship in 5th place, just five points out of a podium finish. Racing was tight for the 15 of the 21 49erFXs that will see each other this summer in Tokyo, Japan for the 2020 Olympic Games. The Cascais event was Steph and Maggie’s final formal regatta before the summer.
Pedro Pascual (Miami, Fla.) finished fifth at the 2021 Allianz regatta in a fleet of 21. Pascual entered the medal race in tenth and moved up to fifth on the final race, capping off his best regatta of 2021. He will represent the United States at the Tokyo Olympics this summer in the Men’s RS:X fleet and is wrapping up final preparations.
US Sailing has confirmed the names of the 13 sailors who will represent the United States at the Olympic Games this coming July and August near Tokyo, Japan. The team hails from nine U.S. states and territories including California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Rhode Island, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Wisconsin. The finalization of the team roster comes after nearly five years campaigning by not only the 13 Olympic Team nominees, but dozens of additional American sailors who were part of U.S. Sailing’s Olympic Team selection process.
The US Sailing Team had a strong week at the Cascaís 49er and 49erFX Championship, securing both first and third places by Nevin Snow and Dane Wilson, and Ian Barrows and Hans Henken, respectively.
Riley Gibbs (Long Beach, Calif.) and Anna Weis (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) are bringing bronze medals back to the US after a successful week of racing in their first large-fleet international regatta since February of 2020.
Team USA Tokyo 2020 Finn Class Representative Luke Muller (Fort Pierce, Fla.) placed 6th out of 59 boats at the 2021 Finn Gold Cup, the class’s World Championship event. The 2021 Gold Cup was the final major test for all medal hopefuls in the men’s heavyweight dinghy before the Olympic regatta begins in late July in Enoshima, Japan.
It was a monumental week for Louisa Nordstrom and Trevor Bornarth, two of the first sailors in the United States to set their sights and efforts in the brand-new Mixed 470 class, at the 2021 470 European Championships in Vilamoura, Portugal.
