2020 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships Postponed

US Sailing and the Pensacola Yacht Club (Fla.) have collectively decided to postpone the 2020 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The premiere youth sailing event in the U.S. was originally scheduled for June 20-24, 2020 in Pensacola, Fla.

Champion Sailor and US Sailing Supporter Dayton Carr Passes Away

Dayton Thomas Carr (New York, N.Y.) passed away peacefully in his home in New York City on April 7, 2020. He was 78 years old. Dayton was a great friend to the sailing community and was an incredible supporter of US Sailing and the U.S. Olympic Sailing Program over the years.

US Sailing Addresses Athletes in Europe Following Recent Travel Restrictions and Event Cancellations  

Due to the travel restrictions from Europe that were announced by the U.S. on Tuesday, March 11 amid the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and recent event cancellations and postponements, US Sailing has advised all American Olympic class sailing athletes who are training in Europe to return to the United States.

US Sailing’s Reach Initiative: 2019 Impact Report; Apply for Reach Grant by March 13

US Sailing’s Reach program has released it’s 2019 Impact Report. Launched in 2012, Reach is US Sailing’s STEM education initiative. Since it’s inception, Reach has had an immeasurable impact on youth across the country who are learning Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math concepts using sailing as an educational platform.
