BRISTOL, R.I. (April 13, 2020) – US Sailing and the Pensacola Yacht Club (Fla.) have collectively decided to postpone the 2020 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The premiere youth sailing event in the U.S. was originally scheduled for June 20-24, 2020 in Pensacola, Fla.
More information about the event status and possible re-scheduling of the 2020 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships will be released in early May. The application and registration periods will remain open until further notice.
Statement from Pensacola Yacht Club organizing committee:
“The members of the Pensacola Yacht Club are certainly disappointed that we will have to postpone the U.S. Youth Championships to a later date in 2020,” said Tom Pace, Vice commodore and Race Chairman of the Pensacola Yacht Club. “We had organized an exceptional team and had plans in place for the best Youth Championships ever.”
