Tomorrow, racing at the 2019 470 European Championships will begin on Italy’s Ligurian Riviera. Organized by Yacht Club Sanremo in co-operation with Yacht Club degli Aregai, the Italian and International 470 class, the championship will boast a truly world class line-up. The championship is open to non-Europeans crews; several teams from countries outside of Europe will be competing this week, some are coming from as far away as China, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, the USA, Argentina or Brazil, Malaysia, and India.

U.S. Sailors Clinch Test Event Qualification and Bring Home Three Medals from Palma

The 50th Trofeo S.A.R Princesa Sofia Iberostar Regatta (Trofeo Sofia) has concluded, following Saturday’s medal races. In breezy conditions, three U.S. athletes secured a spot on the podium. Laser sailor, Chris Barnard (Newport Beach, Calif.), earned his first major title and will take home the gold medal. Pedro Pascual (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Erika Reineke (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) also earned spots on the podium. Both athletes clinched the bronze medal in their respective classes.
