The C. Thomas Clagett, Jr. Memorial Clinic and Regatta and US Sailing are excited to announce that the 2021 U.S. Para Sailing Championships will be hosted by The Clagett Regatta at Sail Newport in Newport, R.I. on August, 24-29, 2021.
US Sailing’s 2020 Championship of Champions came to a close on Sunday following three days of challenging and exciting racing on Newport Harbor. Local sailors Jake La Dow (Huntington Beach, California) and Alex Curtiss (Newport Beach, California) took first place honors against a talented and accomplished fleet of class champions. La Dow and Curtiss won by a 44-point margin. They won six races and placed in the top four in 17 of the 21 races.
Following months of collaboration and teamwork, US Sailing and the Bristol Yacht Club decided not to hold the 2020 U.S. Team Racing Championship due to ongoing circumstances caused by the COVID19 pandemic. This championship was originally planned for September 11-13, 2020. The Bristol Yacht Club has agreed to host the 2021 U.S. Team Racing Championship for the George R. Hinman Trophy next summer or fall. Specific dates for this event will be confirmed at a later time.
The United States Formula 18 Association and US Sailing have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 F18 Americas and U.S. Multihull Championship, originally scheduled for September 26 to October 2, 2020, hosted by San Diego Yacht Club and Mission Bay Yacht Club. Race organizers from USF18, US Sailing, Mission Bay Yacht Club and San Diego Yacht Club are exploring dates to reschedule this combined championship in 2021.

Following weeks of collaboration and consultation, US Sailing and the San Diego Yacht Club have officially decided to reschedule the 2020 U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship to the summer of 2021.
The 2020 U.S. Para Sailing Championships was originally scheduled to take place in conjunction with the Doolin Cup and the Special Olympics North and South American Championships at Sea Star Base Galveston (Texas) on September 25-27, 2020. Unfortunately, due to safety concerns caused by COVID-19, these combined events will be cancelled in 2020.
