US Sailing has hired Sally Barkow as Olympic Team Coach and Performance Manager. Barkow brings a strong background as an athlete to this position. She is a two-time Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year, an Olympian and a two-time Volvo Ocean Race competitor. She will be joining the US Sailing staff to coach U.S. Nacra 17 athletes and assist US Sailing Team coaches in managing the athlete training programs.

Olaf Harken passed away Monday morning after a weekend of accolades and family. Harken was presented with a lifetime achievement award at Saturday’s Pewaukee Awards Dinner. He was a seasoned Scow sailor and business-man who enjoyed sharing his passion for sailing and astronomy.

US Sailing Team Women’s RS:X athlete, Farrah Hall (Annapolis, Md.), recently participated at the RS:X equipment sea trials for the 2024 Olympics. During the trials, World Sailing conducted comprehensive on the water testing and onshore evaluation of five equipment options to replace the Men’s and Women’s RS:X classes at the 2024 Games. Yesterday, World Sailing released that the iFoil has been recommended as the replacement equipment.
