US Sailing has hired Greg Fisher (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) as Chief Operating Officer of Olympic Sailing. Fisher will be working alongside Malcolm Page, Chief of Olympic Sailing, and the leadership team at US Sailing to assemble and leverage internal and external resources to prepare the Team USA to compete and excel at the highest levels of international competition, including the Olympic Games.

The official start of the 2018 Hempel Sailing World Championships is Thursday, (August 2) in beautiful Aarhus, Denmark. Over the course of 11 days of racing, 10 Olympic classes and kites will coexist on the waters outside of Denmark’s second largest city. The U.S. makes an impressive representation with 62 athletes in total. The US Sailing Team members account for approximately one third of those athletes.

The highest finishing team composed of all U.S. citizens or resident aliens at the 2018 U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship, being held August 23-26, 2018 at the St. Francis Yacht Club, will become the 2018 U.S. National Champions.
