The 2019 Finn Gold Cup wrapped with what was probably the windiest day on Port Phillip. For the final races of the event, the athletes saw a southerly breeze at about 15-21 knots. The day began with the final fleet race for all teams outside the top ten and wrapped with the medal race featuring the competitors at the front of the pack.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, Miami became a mecca for talented American sailors, as US Sailing’s Olympic Development Program (ODP) hosted its annual Racing Clinic at Miami Yacht Club. There, over 130 athletes spanning six classes were supported by 40 coaches, including ODP fleet coaches, Quantum Racing experts, and regional program coaches.

The 2020 Hempel World Cup Series Miami is partnering with the Fort Lauderdale to Key West Race to host a doublehanded offshore event. The racing format for this class will simulate the Mixed Two-Person Offshore Keelboat event planned for the 2024 Games. Racing is open to ocean racing and cruising monohull boats who comply with the requirements of the ORC.
