US Sailing has named the 14 athletes that will be competing at the 2019 Hempel Youth Sailing World Championships. The premier event in international youth sailing will take place on July 13–20 in Gdynia, Poland.
The 50th Trofeo S.A.R Princesa Sofia Iberostar Regatta (Trofeo Sofia) has concluded, following Saturday’s medal races. In breezy conditions, three U.S. athletes secured a spot on the podium. Laser sailor, Chris Barnard (Newport Beach, Calif.), earned his first major title and will take home the gold medal. Pedro Pascual (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Erika Reineke (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) also earned spots on the podium. Both athletes clinched the bronze medal in their respective classes.
