FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
US Sailing Announces Release Schedule for the 2025-2028 Racing Rules of Sailing
Bristol, R.I. (October 22, 2024) — US Sailing, the National Governing Body for the sport of sailing, has announced the release schedule for the 2025-2028 edition of The Racing Rules of Sailing, Including the US Sailing Prescriptions. The new rules will be in effect from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2028.
World Sailing, the international authority on the sport, published the new rulebook in July. Since then, several errors and rule conflicts have been identified. World Sailing will address these conflicts during its Annual Conference, scheduled for November 4-9, 2024, in Singapore. Any urgent amendments will be approved and reflected in the final version of the rules set to take effect in January.
US Sailing plans to release the mobile app version of the 2025-2028 rulebook in December 2024. This digital version will be available at no charge to all US Sailing members and will include any changes made by World Sailing in Singapore.
While the print version of the rulebook will take longer to produce, US Sailing expects to begin distribution to members in January 2025. The organization is committed to ensuring that all members receive their copies as quickly as possible.
Regular updates on the rulebook’s availability will be provided through US Sailing’s communications channels. In the coming months, further details on how to obtain the printed version will also be shared.
US Sailing appreciates the continued support of its members and thanks the community for its patience as these updates are finalized.
