As the 2020 US Olympic Selection Trials comes to a close, we are excited! Our 2020 Tokyo athletes have earned their spot on the US Olympic Team, and at the same time, their teammates are supporting them and setting their sights on continuing their campaigns into the next quad.

History shows that in order for sailing athletes to medal at the Olympic Games, those with the skills and experience collected over 2-3 quadrenniums have much greater potential. Our program’s vision and determination is to help America’s top talent invest the years it takes for them to step onto the podium. We have the talent and know the game - we just need to encourage and enable our athletes to see it through.

Today’s young athletes are well-educated, dedicated, and understand the level of professionalism required to make it to the finish line. Our youth pathways have helped fast-track learning veteran skills at an accelerated pace, and sets the stage well for the Olympic campaign road. They understand that winning a gold medal is the ultimate challenge in sport, and know that to achieve it they must respect the effort it entails.

Our athletes rely on support from fans, family and friends, and our Program. As they continue on their path to excellence, we can help keep their dream alive with support from our community, making a positive impact on their lives and in the lives of many more, to help them and the generations that follow keep dreaming.

The path for these exceptional talents started years ago. Today, many of them are two-thirds of the way there. But the repeating mistake our country makes is that we don’t support and encourage these athletes for the final push. These are the years where it can all come together. Without the final push, the game is missed opportunity. We are preaching this message with honesty and conviction, and we need your help and support to deliver the possibilities.
