You Helped Markus Step onto the Podium!

Amazing things are happening for US Olympic class kiteboarders. And your support of Project Pinnacle is helping make it possible!

That was proven recently by Markus Edegran on Lake Traunsee, Austria and Lake Garda, Italy.

The athletes have been working hard with coach Charlie McKee to hone their individual skills and to create a cohesive team with a supportive, winning spirit. And their efforts are paying off!

At the 2022 KiteFoil World Series in Austria, the US Sailing Team’s kiteboarders faced competitors from 26 countries and 5 continents. In the unseasonable heat and fluky winds, American sailor Markus Edegran finished just off the podium, in an impressive fourth place.

Then, just days later, the team stepped into competition again, at the 2022 Formula Kite Grand Prix in Lake Garda.

Despite the grueling schedule, this time Markus had his best finish ever. He took the podium, earning silver in the men’s competition! Not only was this the first time that Markus podiumed at an international event, but it was also the best finish to date for the US Team in international men’s Formula Kite.

Speeding above the water on a kiteboard takes training, dedication, discipline, and guts. Winning on the international stage takes all this, and more. It takes your support and your confidence in every athlete on the Team.

Thank you for helping Markus win and for believing in the US Sailing Team.

Let’s see what they accomplish next!
