US Sailing sends condolences to the family and friends of experienced blue water sailor and long-time US Sailing member Colin Golder who passed away last weekend during the 52nd Newport Bermuda Race. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and crew. The Bermuda Race Foundation, Inc. as the organizing authority for the race, in conjunction with the Cruising Club of America and the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, has invited US Sailing to independently review the matter to determine what took place and what safety lessons might be learned. US Sailing will make a further announcement once a review panel has been appointed.
