Please see the NOR for specific event details.
The inaugural event will take place in Lorient, France from September 24 through October 1, 2024 off the coast of Brittany. In the most recent World Sailing press release on March 25, Christophe Gaumont, Race Director, said, “Lorient La Base has been a main harbor city for competitive sailing and all associated services for over 25 years and has become home to many elite sailing teams. Located in the middle in South Brittany, Lorient is the perfect home city to enjoy a fabulous field of play. The facilities and the location offer excellent conditions for offshore racing, and with the accessible nature of the event and of the Sun Fast 30 One Design we look forward to welcoming the world to Lorient for the 2024 Double Handed World Offshore Championships.” The fleet will race in the identical Sun Fast 30 One Design, one of the first production model sailboats built from a recyclable resin.
