US Sailing Announces U.S. Selection Procedures for the 2026 Team Racing World Championship

US Sailing has published the official selection procedures for the U.S. team(s) that will represent the United States at the 2026 Team Racing World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden scheduled for August 12–16, 2026.

Selection will be determined through a competitive, performance-based pathway designed to identify the nation’s top team racers. One U.S. team will earn selection based on their finish at the 2026 Team Racing World Championship Qualifying Regatta, a 2v2 Team Race taking place May 8–10, 2026, hosted by St. Petersburg Yacht Club. If additional U.S. entries are awarded, they will be filled based on subsequent qualifying results as outlined in the procedures.

Eligible athletes must be U.S. nationals holding a valid passport, maintain an active US Sailing membership, possess a registered World Sailor ID, and meet all requirements of the event Notice of Race. All athletes must also adhere to the US Sailing Code of Conduct. These procedures provide a clear, fair, and transparent route for U.S. sailors to earn the right to compete on the world stage in one of sailing’s most dynamic disciplines.
