Two trophies are up for grabs in three days of racing on the Jordanelle Reservoir, hosted by Park City Sailing Association
PARK CITY, Utah (Sept. 24, 2025) – Dozens of sailors from throughout the United States will compete for three days on the Jordanelle Reservoir in the U.S. Adult Sailing Championship, hosted by Park City Sailing Association.
It’s the first time in the event’s 73-year history that it’s been held in a mountain state. Skippers applied to compete and were selected by the US Adult Sailing Championship Committee.
Seeking the Clifford D. Mallory Trophy, the invited teams represent 10 states, evenly split from east and west of the Mississippi River. A skipper and crew of two or three will race in J/22 sailboats Friday-Sunday, supported by volunteers from PCSA and elsewhere. At the end of the event, competitors and race officials will choose a skipper to be honored with the Staton J. Peele Sportsmanship Trophy.
“The Jordanelle State Park, at the foot of Deer Valley and surrounded by the Wasatch Back, is a spectacular place to sail. We know the sailors and their guests are familiar with Utah as a skiing destination, and we look forward to introducing them to even more outdoor recreation here,” said Annabel Jamail, event co-chair. “We also look forward to providing the sailors with local food and beverage options in post-race festivities that showcase the best of the Park City area.”
