Premiere Sailing Education Event to Take Place January 27-29, 2022 in Savannah, Georgia
BRISTOL, R.I. (June 30, 2020) – The National Sailing Programs Symposium (NSPS) has been postponed to January 27-29, 2022 and will be hosted by The DeSoto in historic Savannah, Ga.
The premiere event for sailing education in the United States was originally scheduled for January 28-30, 2021 at The DeSoto. The decision to postpone the event to 2022 is due to expected COVID-19 restrictions for hosting large events and travel limitations.
NSPS is the only conference of its kind that brings together program directors, instructors, volunteers, parents and industry experts to share and learn best practices with one another about running, maintaining and improving sailing programs. NSPS is an event that provides innovative resources and methods to boating education leaders and programs.
“While we are all disappointed about the postponement to January of 2022, we did not make this decision lightly,” said Stu Gilfillen, US Sailing Education Director. “We consulted with the broad community to fully understand concerns and priorities before determining the best path forward, and we will continue to develop new opportunities to support the sailing community during these challenging times.”
