Treasure Island Sailing Center, DC Sail, and Columbia Sailing School have been selected as Primary Siebel Centers. In April, US Sailing announced a new community sailing program made possible by a major donation from the Thomas and Stacey Siebel Foundation. The purpose of this ground-breaking Siebel Sailors Program is to increase diversity and opportunity in the sport of sailing by providing resources and support to youth sailors at public access sailing centers across the country.

The 13 teams representing their Regional Sailing Associations were challenged by the fast-paced action with varying conditions on Buzzards Bay over four days at the 2019 U.S. Adult Sailing Championship for the Mallory Trophy, hosted by the Beverly Yacht Club. John Loe and his team representing the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association and the Annapolis Yacht Club earned the win on Sunday in a closely contested final round. The winning crew includes Jake Doyle, Jamie Gilman, and Robbie Deane.
The 2020 Hempel World Cup Series Enoshima came to a quiet close on Sunday, September 1. Thanks to light winds, only two of the five Medal Races scheduled for the last day of sailing were completed. The Men’s and Women’s 470 classes enjoyed Medal Races while the Finn, Laser, and Laser Radial podiums were decided based on the cumulative standings of the first ten races.
Recently, at the Pan American Games, US Sailing’s President, Cory Sertl, joined Team USA at the sailing venue in Paracas, Peru. The 2019 U.S. Team Racing Championship for the historic George R. Hinman Trophy is coming to spectacular Newport Beach, Calif. this week. This US Sailing National Championship, hosted by Newport Harbor Yacht Club, features three days of racing beginning Friday, August 16 through Sunday, August 18. The 2019 U.S. Team Racing Championship is sponsored by Hobie Polarized and Sperry.
Allie Blecher (Long Beach, Calif.) won the 17th U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship with a 2-0 victory over Giselle Camet Nyenhuis (San Diego, Calif.).
After a long day spent waiting for wind under postponement, only one of the five scheduled Medal Races was completed on the final day of the Ready Steady Tokyo – Sailing, Olympic Test Event.
