In the United States, college sailing teams and the Olympic Development Program (ODP) have a long history of pursuing the same group of athletes. The relationship between the two programs has drifted in and out of cooperation, but US Sailing’s newest ODP Director Rosie Chapman aims to bolster cooperation between college sailing and the ODP. US Sailing sat down with Chapman and ICSA President Greg Wilkinson to get the lowdown on what’s ahead in the new era.
The second-ever Junior Pan American Games is set to take place August 9 through 23, 2025 in Asunción, Paraguay, with automatic entry to the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru for any athletes that take home gold in the 2025 junior edition.
