Virtual Junior Olympic Festival - It's free!
Take part in our first Virtual Junior Olympic Festival Challenge! We know you’d rather be at the real thing, but we’ve created some cool activities for you to take part in with other junior sailors around the country. July through August 4th, we will be running four challenges and will host a virtual festival celebration and prize-giving on August 7th. The best part, it is FREE to all current US Sailing members! Just click on the RED link above to register. (Psst - all registered sailors get the 2020 VJOF sticker, as well as cool stuff from our sponsors New England Ropes and Harken Derm.)
Three ways to get a limited edition event t-shirt:
Free event t-shirt: Join or renew with BLUE link provided above.
Purchase a t-shirt upon Festival registration website.
Extend your current membership. Members can extend their active membership – so when you’re up for renewal – you’re all set. (Membership will be extended one-year from the month your current membership is up for renewal.)
Challenges
New England Ropes Knot-Tying - What you need: (2) One piece of rope, approximately 2 feet long x2, (4) Sets of chopsticks (or pencils or whatever you can scrounge up that would work) and a Countdown timer set to 2:00 mins. Time yourself! Here is an example for inspiration: Youth Worlds Chopstick Challenge
T-shirt Design - Sailors this is your chance to show us your artistic talent! We are challenging you to design the next US Sailing Team t-shirt. The winning design will be made into a t-shirt to support our 2020ne Tokyo Olympic Team.
Organic Boat Challenge - Create a boat out of organic material or recycled trash – the sky’s the limit – big or small. Let the inner artist in you shine through.
Hidden Talent - No talent is too small.
