Performance Sailing Instructor

Performance Sailing Instructor Certification
The foundations of this two-day course are applicable to non-racing and racing instructors.  For current Basic Keelboat and Small Boat Level 2 Instructors who want to further their knowledge and ability to teach more advanced skills. Candidates will walk away with an in-depth understanding of sail shaping, sail trim, boat handling skills, wind dynamics, and seamanship skills. Principles and theories will be discussed on land and practiced on the water. Basic Keelboat Instructors who complete this course will receive an endorsement.

Spinnaker Instructor
This is a two-day course for current Basic Keelboat and Small Boat Level 2 Instructors (or others by approval of resume) who want to improve their understanding of, and their ability to teach spinnaker handling on small keelboats.  Includes rigging, sets, jibes, drops, crew overboard and troubleshooting. Candidates should have current hands-on spinnaker experience including in winds above 14 knots. Basic Keelboat Instructors who complete this course will receive an endorsement.

Performance Sailing & Spinnaker Instructor
This is a three-day course that combines key elements of both the Performance and Spinnaker Instructor courses. This format is ideal for the more experienced candidate who is prepared for an accelerated course pace.
