For the past six years, Old Pulteney has been a great partner of US Sailing and has shown their dedication to the sport in the U.S.A. As one of the world’s finest and most distinctive single malt Scotch whiskies, Old Pulteney has been proud to support numerous US Sailing events annually as well as sponsor the Maritime Heroes Award, and now, they want to bring their services and support straight to you!

Old Pulteney is offering US Sailing organizational members the opportunity to have a sample event right at your club! Whether you are looking for a small-scale sampling table after weeknight beer can racing, or a masterclass to offer to your members during the offseason, Old Pulteney will design a program that is right for your club. Below are a few examples of package options that Old Pulteney can provide:

  • For low-key, casual events, Old Pulteney will provide a ‘sampling kit’ with some sampling stock.
  • A little more in-depth event will have the support of either a local brand ambassador or representative to help provide an element of education and brand story.
  • For larger scale events, Old Pulteney will send either their national brand ambassador or someone of their team in Scotland to present the brand. This could take the form of a sampling masterclass or a ‘meet and greet’ with the makers of this award winning single malt.

Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a category that is daunting to many and Old Pulteney would like to change this perception. We would encourage you to take them up on this fantastic opportunity and learn more about ‘the Maritime Malt.’

About Old Pulteney
Known as the ‘Maritime Malt’, Old Pulteney is crafted in the windswept coastal town of Wick, home to the Pulteney Distillery which is one of the most northerly on the Scottish mainland. The distillery was established in 1826 in the heart of ‘Pulteneytown’, the town created to house fishermen during Wick’s famous herring boom which for many decades (or until the late 19th century) drew a fleet of over 1000 boats and 7000 workers to this remote and rugged harbour.

Old Pulteney is the embodiment of this place, its people and its remarkable history. The skilled Pulteney Distillery team continues to craft whisky using the most traditional and time-honoured techniques that most others have long abandoned. This includes the uniquely shaped Pulteney stills, which are reflected in the design of the Old Pulteney bottle on shelves today.

Matured in hand-selected American oak ex Bourbon and Spanish oak casks, the resulting whisky has been acclaimed for its excellence, its smooth drinking style and faint hint of the sea. Old Pulteney holds the coveted title of ‘World Whisky of the Year’ for 2012 in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible – one of the industry’s highest accolades – and amongst many other awards recently won ‘World’s Best Single Malt Whisky’ in the prestigious 2016 World Whiskies Awards. Pulteney is also one of five of the single malt Scotch Whisky distilleries owned by International Beverage Holdings Limited, named ‘Distiller of the Year Scotland 2017’ by the panel of Scotch Whisky industry specialists who award the Whisky Magazine’s annual Icons of Whisky Awards. http://www.oldpulteney.com/
