US Sailing Weekly Update with Jack Gierhart
May 18, 2020

Jack Gierhart, CEO of US Sailing, offers an outlook on the sailing season and how some areas around the country are returning to the water with safety protocols in place.

Today is the start of National Safe Boating Week! We want to remind you to wear a life jacket and to also follow all safety guidelines set by your local authorities and sailing organizations. Memorial Day Weekend is fast approaching! If you plan to be out on the water, have fun and stay safe.

Jack discusses how US Sailing and other sailing organizations nationwide are expanding and advancing their online learning capabilities to provide sailors with educational outlets.

The US Sailing Team is preparing to ramp up their on-the-water training, using technology and innovation with their coaches to make the most of their training sessions.

Jack finishes with a tribute to former US Sailing Executive Director, Harry Anderson, a longtime sailing supporter in the U.S. who passed away last week at the age of 98.

US Sailing thanks all our members for their continued support during these challenging times.
