BRISTOL, RI (July 3, 2018) – The World Sailing Youth Match Racing World Championship is being held July 3-8, 2018 on Lake Ledro in Trentino, Italy. The competition will be raced in the J/22 for sailors 22 and under. Representing the United States is the team of Christopher Weis, skipper (Santa Barbara, Calif.), Roberto Stevens, middle (Calabasas, Calif.) and Dylan Finestone, bow (Los Angeles, Calif.). Scott DeCurtis is the coach.
The team grew up sailing with each other at the Del Rey Yacht Club located in Marina Del Rey, Calif. and has been match racing together for three years. Sponsoring the team is the US Sailing Foundation, the Del Rey Yacht Club and the Santa Monica Bay Sailing Foundation.
