Several sailors were in position to contend for qualification spots on the US Sailing Team Sperry Youth World Team as they entered Friday’s final set of races at the 2015 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships. Excitement was in the air and the breeze on Mount Hope Bay and Narragansett Bay cooperated, which made for some great racing.
Thursday marked the second half of the 2015 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships and represented a prime opportunity for contenders to make a run to the top of the standings and for leaders to extend their advantage on their respective fleets.
On Tuesday, a collection of the nation’s top young sailors launched into Mount Hope Bay from Roger Williams University’s sparkling new Bready Sailing Center for the start of the 2015 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships, the pinnacle event for youth sailors under 20 in the U.S.
