Teams completed 53 races on Friday and 20 on Saturday. The Round Robin series is near complete with teams finishing either 10 or 11 of the 13 races scheduled. Hawks Peacocks picked up where they left off on Friday and remain the top team with nine wins in 11 races. Jet Lag and Comm Ave Convicts have each won eight of 10 races. Varmint Cong has won seven of 10 races and Send It has won seven of 11 races. See results and standings.
The race committee will make a decision Saturday night or Sunday morning on the racing format for Sunday’s conclusion of the regatta. The first warning signal has been bumped up a full hour to 9:00 am, if possible. No warning signal can go beyond 2:30 pm. Technically, the regatta is official and we could have a winning team if conditions don’t allow racing on Sunday
“I don’t know exactly what format we are going to do yet,” said Bush. “We could finish the round robin, we could start gold and silver fleets, we could go into the knock-out rounds. Hopefully, we’ll have some early breeze and we can get started. It really depends on the forecast and we will look at that so we have plans A, B, and C in place.”
