Sextant Wines Releases Limited Edition Commemorative US Sailing Cabernet Sauvignon

In a Nod to the Number of Athletes on the Paris 2024 Olympic Sailing Team, 13% of Proceeds to Benefit US Sailing Team

Bristol, RI (November 23, 2024) — US Sailing is proud to announce the launch of the Commemorative US Sailing Release, a special edition 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon crafted by Sextant Wines, the official wine of US Sailing. This limited release pays tribute to the thirteen US Sailing Team athletes who represented the United States in the 2024 Olympic Games in Marseille, France.

Nancy and Craig Stoller, owners of Sextant Wines, attended the Games in Marseille and were profoundly inspired by the performances of the US Sailing Team. Their experience deepened their connection to the sport, and they are honored to release this special edition Cabernet Sauvignon in honor of the team’s success. In support of the US Sailing Team and the thirteen athletes who competed in Marseille, 13% of the proceeds from each bottle sold will be donated to help further the team’s mission and goals.

The commemorative bottle features a unique label design, with the names of each athlete elegantly woven into vibrant, flowing waves.

“The interplay of colors and shapes evokes a scene of sails gliding across the water during a race, symbolizing the unity and shared commitment of sailors worldwide,” says Stoller. “Crafted with pride, this special release is a tribute to our athletes and the enduring spirit of competitive sailing.”

According to Sextant Wines, the Commemorative US Sailing Release offers a rich sensory experience. A confident swirl of the glass reveals a vibrant plum hue, with aromas of raspberry, fresh strawberry, and ripe apricot. Initial layers of earthiness open the palate with hints of potpourri, slate, and cinnamon. A bright, cranberry-like acidity leads to a smooth, elegant finish, with lingering flavors of milk chocolate and black currants—capturing the essence of Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon.

“We were honored to have Nancy and Craig present the athletes with a special gift in person at our Welcome Home event in Marblehead, MA in September,” said Marcus Lynch, US Sailing Team High Performance Director. “And now a commemorative symbol of a historical summer is available for the team – our friends, family, fans, and supporters.”

The Commemorative US Sailing Release will be available for purchase for $40 per bottle starting Friday, November 22, via this link.
