Roger Williams University to Host 2015 U.S. Youth Championships

US Sailing Announces Roger Williams University as New Host of 2015 U.S. Youth Championships

Portsmouth, R.I. (February 18, 2015) – The U.S. Youth Sailing Championships, a signature US Sailing National Championship regatta, will be hosted by Roger Williams University on July 7-10 (registration date is July 6) at their new, state of the art Richard L. Bready Mount Hope Bay Sailing and Education Center in Bristol, R.I. on Narragansett Bay. Bristol Yacht Club will be providing additional support at this ISAF Youth Worlds Qualifier.

Top notch junior sailors from all over the country have used this championship as a benchmark to prepare themselves for the highest levels of international youth sailing competition.

Sailors may be accepted to compete by placing well at Early Acceptance Events and applying online or by submitting a resume and applying online. The remaining Early Acceptance Events on the 2015 calendar are the Laser Midwinters East Regatta, currently underway in Clearwater, Fla., and U.S. Junior Women’s Doublehanded Championship in Columbia, S.C. on June 28-30.

The online application period closes March 15 (Midnight CT). The following disciplines will be sailed at the event:

  • Laser – Open
  • Laser Radial – Boys
  • Laser Radial – Girls
  • I-420 – Boys
  • I-420 – Girls
  • 29er – Boys
  • 29er – Girls
  • F-16 – Open
  • RS:X 8.5 – Boys
  • RS:X 8.5 – Girls

Charters will be available for all fleets and information will be provided to accepted sailors.
