Los Huevos have secured their place in U.S. team racing history, winning the 2025 U.S. Team Racing Championship and hoisting the George R. Hinman Trophy for the third consecutive time. With this “Hinman Hat Trick,” they become only the second team ever to achieve three straight victories, joining the legendary NYYC Silver Panda squad of the late 2000s.
Led by captain Justin Callahan, Los Huevos—comprised of Callahan, Marbella Marlo, Mitchell Callahan, Sara Schumann, Lachlain McGranahan, and Libby Redmond—demonstrated remarkable chemistry and precision boat handling throughout the weekend. The team went undefeated in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals, capping off a near-dominant run. “We stayed reliant, we knew we had the best team out there,” said Callahan. “We’ve been sailing together for a long time now, so we’re super happy to go out there and win it again for a third time.”
Team SDYC (Jack Reiter, Addison Harris, Aidan Hoogland, Molly Matthews, Jack Egan, and Ximena Escobar) battled hard to finish second, climbing from fourth place after the gold round. Bearly Ready, a squad made up of Brown University and Tufts sailors (Ben Mueller, Henry “Rees” Tindall, Guthrie Braun, Emily Mueller, Blake Behrens, and Caroline Keeffe-Jones), claimed the bronze after defeating Rock City Cruising Club 2-1 in the petit final.
Despite a light-wind forecast, Larchmont Yacht Club, along with a dedicated team of volunteers, umpires, and race officials, delivered an action-packed championship. Over the three-day event, competitors completed a full round robin, gold and silver rounds, and three thrilling finals stages —all sailed in the stadium-style course just off the club’s main dock.
US Sailing partners Goslings Rum, Sextant Wines, and Vessi all elevated the level of the event, from Goslings and Sextant providing the post-race party to Vessi supplying the winning team with gift cards to celebrate their success.
The Hinman Trophy once again highlighted the unique spirit of U.S. Sailing’s championship events, bringing together both veteran sailors and rising college talent. With two of Los Huevos’ skippers still active on the college team racing circuit, the future remains bright for this powerhouse team.
