On the coattails of the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, Edward H. Tillinghast III (competitive sailor in the community) and Dr. Alphonsus “Rick” Doerr (Silver medalist, USA Rio 2016 Sailing Paralympian) penned an Op-Ed in Sports Business Journal drawing attention to the exclusion of sailing from the Paralympics for now the second cycle in a row. While sailing will remain off the program for Los Angeles 2028, the Tillinghast and Doerr take a look at the International Paralympic Committee’s decision and highlight the benefits of sailing in the Paralympic space.
