BOD 2025 Nominees Bios

Tarasa Davis, Atlanta, Georgia and Big Sur, California

Tarasa brings a dynamic blend of strategic insight, governance expertise, and a lifelong passion for sailing to the US Sailing Board of Directors. Having grown up at an all-volunteer inland yacht club in Atlanta and excelling as a two-time US Sailing Team member, Pan American Games bronze medalist, and national champion skipper in multiple one-design classes, she understands the diverse needs of sailors at multiple levels, from grassroots enthusiasts to elite competitors.  Her leadership experience includes serving as a director with the US Snipe Class, a past director at the Annapolis Waterfront & Sailing Center and the National Sailing Hall of Fame. She is also a current volunteer on numerous US Sailing committees, including Finance, Governance & Compliance, Racing Rules, and Development. Last year she served on the Nominating Committee and as IT Project Advisor.   In these roles, Tarasa has proven ability to spearhead transformative initiatives, including implementing whistleblower protections, engaging stakeholders to develop a strategic plan and working collaboratively to select a CRM software vendor.  Leveraging her 31 year professional background in technology, process, and strategy consulting at Accenture, Tarasa brings skills and experience that will benefit sailors from grassroots to high performance athletes and will help leadership enhance its value proposition and implement a new association management system.

 

Molly O’Bryan Vandemoer, Redwood City, California

Appointed to the US Sailing Board of Directors in December 2024, Molly is a 2012 Olympian in Women’s Match Racing, finishing 5th at the London Games. She was the 2011 World Champion and 2012 runner-up in Women’s Match Racing, as well as the 2010 Women’s Snipe World Champion. A three-time ICSA All-American Skipper and 2001 ICSA Women’s Dinghy National Champion while at the University of Hawaiʻi, Molly has a career of competitive excellence at the highest levels. Off the racecourse, she is the Executive Director of the Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation, where she has been instrumental in developing youth sailors and expanding community sailing access. She also serves on US Sailing’s Sailor Athlete Council, ensuring athletes’ voices are represented in governance. Molly brings to the Board a blend of elite competitive experience, athlete advocacy, and youth program leadership, all grounded in a passion for growing and strengthening the sport.
