The 2016 Chubb U.S. Junior Sailing Championships, hosted by Mission Bay Yacht Club, will enter Monday’s finale with Championships on the line. The single-, double- fleets each tallied another four races and the triplehanded fleet finished five races on Sunday.

U.S. Junior Singlehanded Championship (Laser Radial) – Smythe Trophy

Joseph Hou (Newport Harbor Yacht Club) won the last three races of the day to move 11 points ahead of Skylar Bayman (Houston Yacht Club) going into Monday. Hou has won five of eight races this weekend.

U.S. Junior Doublehanded Champinship (Club 420) – Bemis Trophy

The teams of Ian Moran and Abie Griggs (Edgewater Yacht Club) and Nicholas Marwell and J. Noble Reynoso each have 20 points at the top of the leadersboard. Moran’s current throwout is a 8th to Marwell’s 16th.

U.S. Junior Triplehanded Championship (Lightnings) – Sears Cup

Sunday’s busiest fleet, the Lightnings, completed five races. Porter Kavle, Jake Vickers and Will Comerford (Annapolis Yacht Club) jumped from fourth to first by winning three of five races. Tanner Probst, Maya Weber and Jenna Probst (Buffalo Canoe Club) are just two points back and Dane Byerly, Carson Shields and Laura Masterson (Lakewood Yacht Club/Texas Corinthian Yacht Club) are five points behind.
