The Youth Team concept was announced in December 2024 as part of the larger pathway that bridges Youth to Olympic Development and onto the US Sailing Team and is comprised of athletes age 19 and under that qualified in the 29er, i420, Nacra 15, ILCA 6, iQFOiL, and Formula Kite.
From The Sailing Museum: This new group includes a diverse range of influential figures in the sailing world, from Olympians and champions to yacht designers, coaches, educators, and more. Nominations are open to the public sailing community, and each year, the Hall of Fame selection committee carefully reviews submissions to elect individuals for its prestigious fellowship, honoring exceptional achievements and contributions to the sport.
Voting is open March 25 through April 14 and the public is invited to vote once a day at TeamUSA.com/HOF. The Team USA Hall of Fame inducts a new class every two years and currently holds 119 Olympians and Paralympians, 11 teams, five coaches, and 19 special contributors.
With Paris in the rear-view mirror, 94 athletes with sights set on representing the Stars and Stripes took to future Olympic waters at Alamitos Bay Yacht Club for the prestigious 2025 CISA Advanced Racing Clinic. The group spent 12 hours on the water, enjoyed five presentations, and learned from 16 staff that included six Olympian coaches for three days of training March 15-17.
Four US athletes will take the water for the second ever Junior Pan American Games coming up August 9-23, 2025 in Asunción, Paraguay. In a unique incentive for these Games, gold medalists at the Jr. Pan American Games will directly qualify for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, potentially giving countries an extra spot at the 2027 event.
Over half of the 72 sailors who will qualify for the Youth National Team in 2025 have now earned their spot on the team based on top finishes at class association Midwinter Championships. The US Sailing Youth National Team is a new initiative to recognize and expand support the top American youth sailors sailing in the international youth classes: 29er, i420, Nacra 15, ILCA 6, iQFOiL, and Formula Kite.

The USST, ODP, Staff and Coaches gathered at the Colorado Springs Training Center, a world-class training venue open to all Team USA athletes. The center focuses on the full athlete experience with lodging, a dining hall, sports medicine clinic, science lab, and state of the art fitness facilities.
