2026 F4 Foils Summer Wingding U.S. Wingfoil Championship Returns to San Francisco Bay

St. Francis Yacht Club & US Sailing welcome High Performance and Recreational fleets to compete

Registration is now open for the 2026 F4 Foils Summer Wingding U.S. Wingfoil Championship, to be held at St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, California, July 30-August 2, 2026.

Co-hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club and US Sailing, with title sponsor F4 Foils, this is the third national championship for the fast-growing sport of wingfoiling. This year’s competitors can register for the competitive High Performance Wingfoil fleet or the Recreational Wingfoil fleet, and organizers are anticipating the country’s best foilers will come join the strong contingent of Bay Area sailors who wingfoil daily at Crissy Field, which is located adjacent to St. Francis Yacht Club and has been one of the world’s hotspots for board sport innovation.

“This will be the third consecutive year that we have hosted this event and that consistency shows that St. Francis Yacht Club and its dedicated volunteer team are playing a leading role in the development of wingfoiling in the United States,” said Felix Weidling, Race Director of St. Francis Yacht Club. In addition to world-class events that draw top talent, the club hosts weekly wingfoil races throughout the summer and offers wingfoil classes as part of its junior sailing program.

“US Sailing is proud to once again work alongside St. Francis Yacht Club as host of the U.S. Wingfoil Championship for a third consecutive year. Their commitment to excellence, innovation and the growth of foiling disciplines makes them an outstanding host, and we’re excited to continue building on this momentum together,” said Betsy Allison US Sailing Adult Sailing Program Director.

Organizers are planning multiple races daily plus one long distance competition—the SF Bay Challenge, on August 1 and open to kiteboards, windsurfers and parawings, in addition to wingfoil competitors. More than just a competition, the wingfoil championship is but one element of a weekend-long festival of foiling for participants, family and friends. The Thursday before competition will feature a foiling demo, such as parawing or freestyle, and throughout the weekend event sponsors and board sport companies will have gear and demo opportunities available on Crissy Beach. Non-competitive foilers who may not be gunning for the podium are encouraged to register and participate.

“Conditions should be perfect, with sunny skies and blasting winds, for the best wing racers from around the country and globe competing for the top prize,” said Geoff Headington, Regatta Chair and competitor. “Be sure to register if you want to compete, or if you’re a fan of the sport make time to come watch the action, demo the gear and meet other wingfoilers. We plan to add other foiling discipline competitions in the days leading up to the event, so keep an eye on the beach!”
