Stephanie Roble grew up sailing dinghies and scows on Lake Beulah, Wisconsin. At an early age, she fell in love with the sport and quickly took to competition. Early in her career, Stephanie qualified to represent the U.S. at the 2004 Optimist World Championships. In high school, she found similar success by representing the U.S. in the Laser Radial at the 2006 ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship. As a collegiate sailor at Old Dominion University, Stephanie led her team to several Women’s and Coed National Championships and claimed two All-American titles, was three-time Team MVP and served as Team Captain her senior year. She was also one of few women competing as a skipper in the Coed division at the time.

After graduating, Stephanie focused on sailing, specifically match racing. She won the open U.S. Match Racing Championship once (as a crew) and the U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship twice (as helm and crew). Stephanie was a founding member of Epic Racing, the professional women’s match racing team. As skipper for the team, she earned two bronze medals at the Women’s Match Race World Championships in 2014 and 2015 and placed in first and second, respectively, on the Women’s International Match Race Series (WIM Series). Stephanie also sailed professionally in the Melges 20, J70, and Etchells classes. She has played several roles as a sailor, including bow, tactician, strategist, and helm in multiple classes and disciplines of sailing, and has achieved many accolades including one World Championship and five National Championship victories in addition to multiple podium finishes at World, National and Continental Championships. In 2014, Stephanie earned the title of US SailingRolex Yachtswoman of Year, the highest award in American sailing. Stephanie was a finalist for this award for the following three years.
