About Techno 293
The Techno 293 Class is the internationally recognized feeder class to the Olympics. There are World Championships for Under 17, U15, and U13 age groups, as well as Techno 293Plus Class for 17 and older using a larger, 8.5m, rig. Most of the Olympic sailors started in the Techno 293 Class. This is a strict One Design Class which allows no upgrades. The equipment is affordable and remarkably durable. The Techno 293 World Championships usually attract more than 400 sailors.
