Tarasa Davis, Atlanta, Georgia
Tarasa Davis currently serves on the US Sailing Board of Directors and brings a unique combination of high-performance sailing, governance expertise, and executive business leadership. Tarasa brings a dynamic blend of strategic insight, governance expertise, and a lifelong passion for sailing to the US Sailing Board of Directors. Having grown up at an all-volunteer inland yacht club in Atlanta and excelling as a two-time US Sailing Team member, Pan American Games bronze medalist, and national champion skipper in multiple one-design classes, she understands the diverse needs of sailors at multiple levels, from grassroots enthusiasts to elite competitors. Her leadership experience includes serving as a director with the US Snipe Class, a past director at the Annapolis Waterfront & Sailing Center and the National Sailing Hall of Fame. She is a current volunteer on the US Sailing Finance and Racing Rules committees. Last year she served on the US Sailing Nominating, Governance & Compliance, and Development Committees and as IT Project Advisor. In these roles, Tarasa has proven ability to spearhead transformative initiatives, including implementing whistleblower protections, engaging stakeholders to develop a strategic plan and working collaboratively to select a CRM software vendor. Leveraging her 31-year professional background in technology, process, and strategy consulting at Accenture, Tarasa brings skills and experience that will benefit sailors from grassroots to high-performance athletes and will help leadership enhance its value proposition and launch a new association management system.
Carol Ewing, Miami, Florida
Appointed to the US Sailing Board of Directors in 2026, Carol Ewing has spent decades supporting the sport through race management, Olympic sailing, and volunteer leadership. An active racer in VX One, J/70, and Farr 395 fleets, Carol has served as Regatta Coordinator for US Sailing’s Olympic Classes Regatta and World Cup events and has supported the Olympic Development Program through race management for many years. She is also a longtime business owner, operating a printing company while contributing extensively to yacht club and sailing initiatives, including leading a volunteer project at Coral Reef Yacht Club that significantly improved club facilities through volunteer effort. Carol brings to the Board practical experience in race administration, event operations, financial stewardship, and Olympic sailing, along with a commitment to strengthening member services and supporting the continued growth of competitive sailing in the United States.
Marie Rogers, Rolling Hills, California
Currently serving on the US Sailing Board of Directors after her appointment in 2024, Marie Rogers brings decades of leadership in community sailing, education, and nonprofit management. An educator since 1986 and a sailing instructor and coach with the Long Beach Sailing Foundation, Marie previously served as Sailing Program Director and Commodore at Los Angeles Yacht Club, where she created the LAYC’s Community Sailing Program. She has held leadership positions with the Southern California Yachting Association, National Women’s Sailing Association, and several community sailing initiatives. A licensed USCG 50-Ton Master, she remains an active racer, coach, and cruiser, including skippering the 2023 Transpac and coaching sailors of all experience levels. In 2021, she was recognized for her accomplishments and leadership in sailing by winning the Boat US/NWSA Leadership in Women’s Sailing Award. Within US Sailing, Marie serves as Board Liaison to multiple committees and chairs the Compensation Committee. She brings to the Board a grassroots perspective focused on expanding access to sailing, strengthening community programs, and ensuring that new participants discover and remain engaged in the sport.
John “Beau” Vrolyk, Santa Cruz, California
Beau is a lifelong sailor whose experience spans dinghies to classic schooners. Decades of involvement with all aspects of sailing as a racer, official, and international cruiser have built a strong drive to grow the sport of sailing forward. A former Commodore and Board Member of St. Francis Yacht Club, and former Board Member of the Santa Cruz Yacht Club, Beau has helped organize national and world championship regattas while serving as a US Sailing National Judge and Regional Race Officer for both organizations. Professionally, he built a distinguished career in the technology industry as an engineer, founder, CEO, and later in life as a partner in a private equity firm. Beau has served on numerous company Boards and led organizations ranging from startups through not-for-profit foundations and global technology businesses. Beau brings extensive corporate governance, marketing, finance, and strategic leadership experience, combined with a lifetime commitment to growing the sport of sailing through clubs, racing, and cruising.
