Alana O’Reilly Marks grew up and learned how to sail in Charleston, South Carolina. She attended the College of Charleston and was a three-time All-American and the Quantum Women’s Sailor of the Year in 2006. Alana has 15 years of coaching experience in a variety of fleets including Club 420s and Laser Radials.

 

How would you best describe your coaching style?

“My coaching style is best described as easy going. I like to have a conversation and ask questions to the sailors to help them come to their own decisions with some guided input. I believe this technique provides the sailors with more confidence.”

She is a dual citizen of Ireland and the US.
