This fall season was busy for the newly selected centers within the three regions of the Siebel Sailors Program. Each center accepted delivery of new RS Feva XL sailboats, rearranged their dock space to showcase the new fleet, and fit a Demo Day event into their already packed schedules! Talent Converges in Miami – US Sailing Hosts “Best Olympic Development Program Camp Yet”

Over Thanksgiving weekend, Miami became a mecca for talented American sailors, as US Sailing’s Olympic Development Program (ODP) hosted its annual Racing Clinic at Miami Yacht Club. There, over 130 athletes spanning six classes were supported by 40 coaches, including ODP fleet coaches, Quantum Racing experts, and regional program coaches.

The team of ten sailors had been practicing together for about a year at Treasure Island Sailing Center in the middle of the San Francisco Bay. They ranged from late-elementary to early-middle school age with a strong desire to improve their racing prowess. They started out last fall and sailed some Opti Green Fleet races in local regattas.

Charlotte Rose Secures Top Ten Finish at Radial Worlds

After spending a week battling challenging conditions on the waters of Sakaiminato City, Japan, Charlotte Rose (Houston, Texas) has secured ninth place overall at the 2019 Laser Radial World Championships. Other strong American finishes include performances from two-time Olympian, Paige Railey (Clearwater, Fla.), and Trofeo Sofia Bronze Medalist, Erika Reineke (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.). Railey finished the event in 12th overall and Reineke finished 21st.
