The Emeritus Program recognizes Race Officials who have given many years of distinguished service to the sport and have shown themselves to be leaders in the Race Official community. Emeritus status is granted to people who are no longer active as officials.
A member of the appropriate committee may nominate a retired National or International official whom he or she feels is deserving of the distinction. Committee members may consider suggestions for Emeritus designation from any source. A description of the official’s activities and proposed presentation language for the award are required and a form for supplying these are located in the Trophies and Recognitions section of the website.
The committee will review the nomination and, if approved, grant the designation and arrange for a certificate to be presented to the honoree at a suitable occasion.
Emeritus is an honorary, lifetime designation. Names of officials honored with Emeritus status are forwarded to the US Sailing Board of Directors for recognition and are listed below.
