The Trevor Moore and Family Fund

Carrying Trevor Moore’s Legacy Forward

Trevor Moore was an extraordinary sailor, teammate, and friend. Known for his grit, generosity, and big heart, Trevor lifted everyone around him. The Trevor Moore and Family Fund at US Sailing ensures his spirit lives on by providing world-class coaching to the US Sailing Youth National Team.

The Fund gives young athletes the opportunity to develop their talent, embrace the values of teamwork, preparation, and accountability, and pursue their dreams at the highest level.

About the Trevor Moore and Family Fund

The Fund supports under-19 athletes with the potential to become the next generation of champions. These athletes compete at the highest levels of youth sailing, with many advancing into the Olympic Development Program. By investing in their coaching, you can honor Trevor’s legacy of hard work and commitment to helping others succeed.

The US Sailing Youth National Team is more than a roster of talented sailors—it’s a culture built on the values Trevor embodied throughout his life:

  • Teamwork – The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
  • Preparation – Regattas are won in the weeks, months, and years before the race.
  • Accountability – Success comes from owning your goals and honoring your commitments.

The Trevor Moore Trophy

Funded by the Trevor Moore Foundation, the Trevor Moore Trophy is presented annually at the US Youth Championship to the Doublehanded Skiff (29er) winners. Dedicated in 2023, the trophy was crafted by Patrick Kana, a fine artist and furniture designer, and Trevor’s close friend and teammate at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Using wood from Trevor’s family farm in Vermont, Patrick created a piece that serves as both a lasting tribute to Trevor’s legacy and a symbol of inspiration for future youth sailors.
