Olympic & Paralympic Games

The Games of the XXXI Olympiad will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5-21, 2016.

Equipment:

Fifteen athletes will represent the United States of America in ten Olympic classes:

Men’s events:

  • 470: two-person dinghy
  • 49er: two-person high performance skiff
  • Finn: one-person heavyweight dinghy
  • Laser: one-person dinghy
  • Nacra 17 (mixed): multihull
  • RS:X: windsurfer

Women’s Events:

  • 470: two-person dinghy
  • 49erFX: two-person high performance skiff
  • Laser Radial: one-person dinghy
  • Nacra 17 (mixed): multihull
  • RS:X: windsurfer

Six athletes will represent the United States of America in three Paralympic classes:

  • 2.4mR: one-person keelboat (open)
  • SKUD-18: two-person keelboat (mixed)
  • Sonar: three-person keelboat (open)
