US SAILING Membership Options


Types of Membership

Youth, Adult and Family memberships are the backbone of the United States Sailing Association. More than 40,000 adult and youth sailors are currently taking advantage of the many sailing opportunities across the nation.

Golden Anchor

A program designed to provide sailing organizations and their members with even more membership benefits: Organization members receive all the benefits of US SAILING membership at reduced rates, while organizations receive credits for each US SAILING member enrolled.

President's Club

Founded in 1989, this is a group of individuals, each of whom has made an extraordinary commitment to the long-term goals of US SAILING.

Club or Association

Regional Sailing Associations, Yacht Clubs, Sailing Clubs, Sailing Organizations (Community Sailing, Fleets, Class Associations, High School and/or Collegiate programs, etc.) receive a wide range of benefits including insurance programs.

Corporate Membership

 

Corporate members contribute to the sport through their support of US SAILING.  We appreciate their generosity and encourage our members to take business to them.

Programs & Services

Search for a US SAILING member You can find a member by name or member number.
Change of Address

Members can request changes of address on-line and can add email addresses. We will be delivering more services via email, so be sure your email address is up to date. 

Insurance

US SAILING has five insurance programs that provide coverage and benefits to member organizations: The Burgee Program, Regatta Liability Insurance, Borrowed Boat Insurance, Sailing School Insurance and Directors and Officers Liability Insurance. There are currently two insurance programs offered for individual members: One-Design Insurance and the Finance Package.

Benefits

Benefits vary according to the type and level of membership, but most include a choice The Racing Rules of Sailing or Safety Recommendations for Cruising Sailboats. Other benefits include insurance programs, discounts on RIBCRAFT RIBs, the Bitter End Yacht, West Marine,  publications, accessories, safety gear, and on entry fees at regattas covered by US SAILING Regatta Liability Insurance.

Membership in US SAILING provides the opportunity to show support for the National Governing Body of sailing and its goal of preserving and promoting the sport. Membership dollars go to support the many programs and services offered by US SAILING. These include assisting in the development of community sailing programs that strive to make sailing more accessible; training sailors of all ages to become sailing instructors; supporting one-design fleets nationwide; training and certifying judges, race officers and umpires; offering affordable insurance programs for sailing organizations; deriving and implementing The Racing Rules of Sailing, and much more.  For more information, please contact the Membership Department.
