The Adult Department is responsible for everything related to adult participation and enjoyment of both Sailing and US Powerboating. We invite you to explore a wide range of opportunities: in our sailing education courses; with our sailing schools and powerboat instructors; in Safety-At-Sea courses; Adaptive sailing; and First Sail opportunities. Race Officials supports racing sailors and event organizers. Its areas of responsibility include training, certifying and supporting race officials and supporting local sailing organizations. The department also develops and manages The Racing Rules of Sailing and rules-related products and administers appeals of decisions by protest committees.

US Offshore is an educational, technical, and administrative resource for sailors and race organizers alike to facilitate safe, fair, and accessible racing by:

– Facilitating various big boat rating and handicapping services
– Issuing certified sail numbers per the Racing Rules of Sailing
– Contributing to World Sailing’s Offshore Special Regulations (OSR) and US Sailing’s Safety Equipment Requirements (SER)
