World Sailing

International Race Management Seminar

Dates: Friday, 23 September – Sunday, 25 September 2022

    • Seminar begins at 0845 on Friday and ends by 1700 on Sunday
    • Participants sit for the IRO certification test on Sunday afternoon
    • Participants must be present for the entire seminar
    • Last day for registration: 8 September 2022

Instructors: Ricardo Navarro (IRO – BRA) and John Parrish (IRO – NZL)

Venue: Long Beach Yacht Club – 6201 Appian Way, Long Beach, CA 90803

Seminar Fee: US $340 includes course materials, test, morning and afternoon refreshments, lunches and Saturday dinner. Registration does not include airfare or lodging.

Eligibility:

    • Priority will be given to National Race Officers (or the equivalent from the applicant’s national governing body) per World Sailing policy
    • Applicants must be a member of their national governing body

Seminar materials will be distributed at the seminar

Participants should bring:

  • The Racing Rules of Sailing 
  • Writing materials
  • Calculator (optional)
  • Laser range finder, GPS and digital voice recorder (if you already own these – not necessary to purchase them for the seminar)

Please note: World Sailing will accept test scores from this seminar for 2022 IRO applications. All other requirements must be met by posted deadlines.
